Military budget and strict priorities: the social sphere in the background
At the end of 2024, it became clear: the bulk of the state budget went to armaments, defense, mobilization and military needs. Expenditures in the social sphere, healthcare, education, and regional development have been seriously reduced. Many regions felt the consequences: delays in social payments, cuts in support programs, deterioration of infrastructure. The budget designed for war left less and less resources for “peaceful life.” This has created discontent among citizens: especially among those who have never been associated with the front, but pay taxes - and now receive less guarantees, less support, less confidence. 2024 was the year when the state’s priorities are obvious: protection and aggression are more important than the well-being and health of people. And many felt that they had become hostages of other people’s decisions.
