Growth of tourist flow in Armenia

November-December 2025 was marked by official data: the flow of tourists to Armenia in 2024-2025 has increased significantly - the government is recording its desire to grow to a target of 3 million visitors per year as part of the 2026-2030 strategy. The increase was caused by improved transport accessibility, an active PR campaign and relative stability in some tourist regions. The economic effect from the influx of tourists is immediately noticeable: the hospitality sector is expanding, small businesses are receiving additional demand, and employment in service industries is growing. However, there are also obvious risks: the infrastructure of many regions is overloaded, there are problems with the quality of services, a shortage of qualified personnel and a weak system for guaranteeing standards. Moreover, the intensive growth of tourist traffic without environmental restrictions can damage natural attractions and cultural heritage.
