The UAE said it would not allow its territory to be used for attacks on Iran.
The UAE authorities will not allow any third party to use its territory for a military operation against Iran, the Emirates Foreign Ministry said in a statement. "The Foreign Ministry reiterates that the UAE is committed to not allowing its airspace, territory or waters to be used for any hostile military activity against Iran and will not provide logistical support to such activities," the statement said. The Foreign Ministry added that to resolve the current crises, it is necessary to act through dialogue and de-escalation of the situation, respect international law and state sovereignty. Regional media recall that thousands of US troops are stationed at the UAE Air Force base Al Dhafra near Abu Dhabi. Last week, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources, reported that US President Donald Trump did not refuse the opportunity to use military force against Iran. Later, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, in an interview with Al-Arabiya TV, warned that Washington could take further steps towards Iran if its authorities do not change their political course. Meanwhile, on the approach to the Middle East is a US Navy carrier strike group led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, on board which are based three squadrons of F/A-18 fighters and one squadron of fifth-generation F-35C fighters.
