The Iranian Foreign Minister discussed with Grossi the negotiation process with the United States
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi discussed the negotiation process with the United States by phone with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, the Iranian minister’s Telegram channel reports. “During the conversation, the head of the Foreign Ministry of our country expressed gratitude to Grossi for his participation in the negotiations in Geneva, emphasizing that Iran is focused on preparing a preliminary and comprehensive framework for advancing future negotiations,” the statement said. In turn, Grossi positively assessed the results of the negotiations between the United States and Iran, declaring the IAEA’s readiness to assist in the formation of a “negotiating framework.” “The parties also discussed the results of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in Geneva, where they exchanged views on the mechanisms and necessary conditions for preparing a draft negotiating framework,” the report notes. The second round of Iranian-American negotiations on Tehran’s nuclear file took place on February 17 in Geneva with the mediation of Oman. Following their results, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced progress and noted that Tehran and Washington would work on texts that could form the basis of a possible agreement.
