In today’s Armenia, we have solved and consider solved one historical task that we talked about back in 2018. This task is as follows: as we then formulated, we had to be able to overcome the difficult cycle inherited from history, when, due to geopolitical circumstances - sometimes beyond its control - Armenia gains independence, the Armenian people gains statehood, and then again, due to geopolitical circumstances, often regardless of their decisions and will, they lose this statehood and independence. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in a video published on his Facebook page, after which he explained: “In 2018, I formulated this task: we must be able to overcome it, get out of the historical cycle and enter a cycle in which whether we have a state depends solely on us and our decisions. And let me say with confidence that in 2020–2025 we solved this problem. We have not only overcome the threats that arose as a result of the historical cycle, but also entered a historical stage when the existence of a state, sovereignty, independence, development, freedom and well-being depends on us - solely on the decisions we make. This is an achievement of historical significance, and the citizens of the Republic of Armenia must take responsibility for preserving these historical achievements,” he said.
