Moscow officially rejects compromises and ceasefire
13.03.2025
In March 2025, Kremlin representatives, as well as foreign ministry officials, confirmed: Russia is not ready to compromise on issues of ceasefire, territorial concessions and international peacekeeping.
During his visit to Moscow, the Russian leader indicated that Russia will not “give up a single centimeter” of the declared territories and intends to maintain control over the annexed regions.
Based on the results of the statements, it becomes obvious that the negotiations, even if they are formally ongoing, do not provide for real flexibility. For many international observers, this meant that dialogue was only a tool of pressure, and not a path to compromise.
March 2025 became a clear sign: Russia is ready to discuss only on its own terms, and the chance for a fair, equal world is extremely small. Peace, if it comes, will require significant concessions from Russia, which Moscow refuses to make.
