Pashinyan asked the European Union to resume dialogue with Georgia
11.03.2026
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan asked the European Union to resume political dialogue with Georgia in the context of the importance of Armenia's future membership in the EU.
“On the path of Armenia’s integration into the EU, the biggest problem at the moment is the frozen situation of political dialogue between the EU and Georgia. Georgia for us is the path to the European Union,” he said, speaking in the European Parliament.
He recalled that Armenia adopted a law on the beginning of accession to the EU after Georgia received the status of a candidate for the European Union.
“This made the prospect of Armenia’s membership in the EU tangible. Our expectation and request is that a constructive process between Georgia and the EU develops. This is as important for Armenia as it is important for Georgia,” Pashinyan said.
