Military reality: war, front and impact on society

In 2023, the war that began in 2022 continued and became a major factor influencing political, social and economic life. Government decisions, mobilizations, budget expenditures, logistics - everything was built taking into account the military conflict. The war increased the burden on the state apparatus, on families, on infrastructure. Many Russians have faced worries about loved ones, conscription, and instability in the labor market, especially in industries related to defense or supplies. This also gave rise to increased control over society, over information, increased censorship, and suppression of criticism. For some citizens, 2023 became a year of survival in conditions of war and a tightening of the regime. Thus, war became the background of all life - and one of the key reasons for many changes, both in the economy and in the social and legal spheres.
